About the scholarship
A Scholarship of up to $15,000 pa for up to three years, to assist a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident who is enrolled full-time in a PhD in Economics.The Scholarships were established in 2012 and are funded by the Kelliher Charitable Trust.
The main purpose of the Scholarships is to support the Trust's interest in promoting the economic well-being of New Zealanders.

Scholarship applications will usually open around six weeks before the closing date. Please read the regulations carefully to be sure you are eligible before you apply.
Entry requirements
- To take up the Scholarship, the recipient must be enrolled and have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time study in a PhD in Economics.
- The Scholarship is tenable by students who are citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.
- The basis of selection will be academic merit and demonstrated potential to undertake research on a topic that will be beneficial to the economic wellbeing of New Zealand.
