About the scholarship
This Prize was established in 2018 and is funded by the students, colleagues, friends and family of Hugh Laracy. Associate Professor Laracy was a long-time popular and energetic lecturer in Pacific History, friend of the Pacific and its peoples. The main purpose of the Prize is to recognise and reward the first year Bachelor of Arts student who achieved the highest marks in the Stage I Pacific History course at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
