About the scholarship
Three Scholarships of up to $7,500 for New Zealand citizens or permanent residents enrolled in honours or masters research in a medical and health sciences field.The Scholarship was established by the Trustees of the Maurice and Phyllis Paykel Trust to encourage outstanding science students to undertake research in medical and health sciences in order to achieve an Honours, or a Masters degree at the University of Auckland.

Scholarship applications will usually open around six weeks before the closing date. Please read the regulations carefully to be sure you are eligible before you apply.
Entry requirements
'-The Scholarship will be awarded to a science graduate who has enrolled and has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time or part-time enrolment in an Honours or a Masters degree in medical and health sciences. -The Scholarship is not available for award to MBChB students, medical graduates or PhDs. -The Scholarship is tenable by students who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand. -The basis of selection will be academic merit and the quality of the research proposal (see Note I).
