About the scholarship

A Prize for the most distinguished academic performance throughout Phase I of the MBChB. The Prize is one of two prizes established by Sir William and Lady Goodfellow, to be awarded to students of the Auckland School of Medicine. It commemorates Lieutenant Eric Hector Goodfellow who, after a distinguished first year of medical study at Edinburgh, served in the British Army during the First World War and was killed in action. The recipient will be expected to use the majority of the prize money to extend their insight into the professional practice of medicine.
