About the scholarship
The Award was established in 1995 and is financed from the investment of funds which were made available by Mr Norm Thom, one of the foundation staff members of Environmental Science at the University of Auckland, for this purpose. The purpose of the Award is to provide assistance to a suitable postgraduate student to pursue MSc thesis research in Environmental Science. If the Award is made for the purpose of obtaining reference material and/or equipment, such material or equipment will become the property of the School.

Entry requirements
An Award will be made each year to a full-time postgraduate student at the School of Environment whose research activities in a topic in environmental science would receive the most benefit from such an Award.
