About the scholarship

The Scholarship was established in 2018 and is funded by a Marsden Fund grant awarded to an academic staff member from the School of Music in the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries at the University of Auckland.

The main purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage and support a Master of Music student in the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries at the University of Auckland who are undertaking research in the culture of musical arrangement and women in private musical life in Vienna, c.1790-c.1830.

Entry requirements

The Scholarship may be awarded to a student who is enrolled full-time in a masters thesis, research portfolio or research project of at least 90 points in a Master of Music (MMus) in the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries at the University of Auckland who meets all the requirements of these regulations and who is or will be undertaking research in the culture of musical arrangement and women in private musical life in Vienna c.1790-c.1830. Students who have already commenced the research component of their programme are not eligible for consideration for this scholarship.

To take up and be paid the Scholarship, the recipient must be enrolled full-time in a thesis, research portfolio or research project of at least 90 points in a Master of Music. The Scholarship is tenable by a domestic or international student
