About the scholarship
A Prize for the most distinguished researcher who submitted a PhD thesis in Chemistry, Food Science or Forensic Science in the year of the award. The Prize arises from a fund raised by subscriptions among past and present students, colleagues and friends of the late Professor Heathcote Briggs, Emeritus Professor of Chemistry and a member of staff of the Chemistry Department from 1933 and 1975.
