About the scholarship
An Award to assist a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident enrolled in Part II and III of a BE(Hons) to attend a study and research placement with McLaren Automotive at the McLaren Technology Centre, UK. The Award was established in 2016 with generous support from Alumni Rob Whitehouse, Eric Tracey and Neil Paton, with additional support from 2017 onwards from Sir Colin Giltrap, and supported from 2022 onwards by the NZ-UK Link Foundation (UK), Bruce McLaren Trust (NZ) and other donors. The main purpose of the Award is to provide an international experience of up to ten weeks for a Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) student to travel to the United Kingdom to participate in a study and research placement with McLaren Automotive based at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, England.
