About the scholarship
The RILEY Civil and Environmental Engineering Scholarship has been established to assist third and fourth year undergraduate students interested in aspects of civil and environmental engineering in New Zealand.
RILEY is a successful and progressive multi-discipline engineering consultancy, providing specialist services in geotechnical, environmental, civil and water resource engineering. Established in 1984, RILEY is a 100% New Zealand owned and managed company which prides itself on its ability to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions for difficult ground conditions. Areas of particular interest include the rehabilitation of unstable slopes, stabilization of large landslides, dam site investigation and forensic investigations services, plus site selection, investigation and design of dams and hydro-electric schemes.

Scholarship applications will usually open around six weeks before the closing date. Please read the regulations carefully to be sure you are eligible before you apply.
Entry requirements
'- The Scholarship is open to students specialising in all Civil and Environmental disciplines, with the exception of structural and mechanical engineering.
- The Scholarship is tenable by students who are citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.
- Selection will be based on academic achievement, a demonstrated interest in relevant aspects of civil and environmental engineering, and potential to contribute to the industry. Short-listed candidates may be required to attend an interview. Candidates should have a grade point average (GPA) or grade point equivalent (GPE) of 5.00 to be considered for the Scholarship (see Note I).
