About the scholarship
The Faculty of Arts and Education offers a limited number of doctoral scholarships each year to nurture, recruit, and retain outstanding research talent. The scholarships support excellent and innovative research and the creation of high-quality research outputs, with a focus on growing Māori and Pacific candidates and research topics.
Entry requirements
Applicants must have a track record of academic success and research experience. A qualifying programme with a GPE below 7.5 is not regarded as competitive for the purposes of a University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship or a Faculty Scholarship. Applicants must contact proposed supervisors well in advance of the closing date for applications, as supervisor endorsement is required.
