University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship

The University of Otago is suspending quarterly rounds for allocation of Doctoral scholarships in September and November 2025. However, a guaranteed doctoral scholarship scheme for students with a domestic Honours or Masters degree remains in place for 2025. Students anticipating auto-award should have at least GPA 8 in the final year of Honours or across their Masters degree. A special funding round will be held on 28 October for doctoral applicants critical to research programmes, teaching operations, or who are Māori or indigenous Pacific students below the GPA threshold.
