About the scholarship
Established in 2024 from funds bequeathed to the University by Professor John Steele, a former long serving member of the Music Department known for his world-renowned research on early Western art music, this scholarship provides financial support to students to study undergraduate music at the University of Otago | Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Music programme and meet general eligibility criteria, including being New Zealand citizens, New Zealand Residence Class Visa Holders, Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents with domestic fee status, or international students who have completed Year 12 and/or Year 13 at a New Zealand school.
