About the scholarship
The Women Doctors' Fund was established in 2004 by Dr. Rosy Fenwicke, a GP in Wellington, and her contributors, who generously donated the royalties from her book entitled, In Practice: The Lives of New Zealand Women Doctors in the 21st Century. The grant is awarded by the University Council, on the recommendation of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, to a female student who is a New Zealand citizen or New Zealand permanent resident in their 3rd year of study towards the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Otago. The grant is to assist the recipient with their study of medicine.
Entry requirements
Applicants must: be a New Zealand citizen or New Zealand Residence Class Visa Holder; be a female student; be in her 3rd year of study towards the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Otago; Exhibit humanity, humour, courage and an open and inquiring mind.
