About the scholarship
Established in 1887 from funds made available by public subscription in memory of the late James Macandrew, member of the Council and one of the founders of the University and in 1920 by Sir Robert Stout, KCMG, Chief Justice of New Zealand. The Scholarship may be held only by a student of Economics.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be obtaining their first research Master's or Doctoral qualification and must be a domestic fee paying student. Selection is based predominantly on academic merit and the applicant's potential for research.
