About the scholarship
When international postgraduate students submit an application for a University of Otago Scholarship, their GPA is converted to an Otago equivalent. The process involves converting grades to US grades, then to Otago grades, and finally calculating the Otago GPA. Most successful scholarship applications will have a GPA in the US equivalent A range or an 8 on the Otago scale. Other factors such as research experience and alignment with divisional priorities are also considered.
Entry requirements
Applicants must submit their most recent/relevant transcript and may require a thesis assessment if their thesis is ungraded, pass/fail, or below the 0.25 EFTS requirement for admission. For further information about admission criteria, please refer to the entry requirements.
