Assessing International Grades for Postgraduate Scholarships

When international postgraduate students submit an application for a University of Otago Scholarship, their GPA is converted to an Otago equivalent. The process involves converting grades to US grades, then to Otago grades, and finally calculating the Otago GPA. Most successful scholarship applications will have a GPA in the US equivalent A range or an 8 on the Otago scale. Other factors such as research experience and alignment with divisional priorities are also considered. A thesis assessment may be required for certain qualifications.
