About the scholarship
These scholarships provide for students who have demonstrated academic ability and who can show significant financial need or have life circumstances that present barriers to studying at university. The University of Otago 150th Entrance Scholarship was renamed to celebrate the University's 150th anniversary in 2019. The scholarship offers a standard value of $16,000 over two years, with exceptional applicants potentially receiving a higher value.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be New Zealand citizens, New Zealand Residence Class Visa Holders, Australian citizens, or international students who have completed Year 12 and/or are in the process of completing Year 13 at a New Zealand school. They must also have significant financial need or life circumstances that present barriers to studying at university and have achieved NCEA Level 2 endorsed with merit, or equivalent.
