About the scholarship
The S & G Higgs Entrance Scholarship was established in 2020 to support students with learning disabilities that make studying a personal challenge, along with financial need and life circumstances that present barriers to studying at the University of Otago. This scholarship is specifically for students undertaking first-year undergraduate study.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be New Zealand citizens, New Zealand Residence Class Visa Holders, Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents with domestic fee status, or international students who have completed Year 12 and/or are in the process of completing Year 13 at a New Zealand school. They must also be intending to enroll or have enrolled for the first time for first-year full-time degree-level undergraduate study at the University of Otago. Additionally, applicants must have a significant disability with substantial financial implications for their studies and have achieved NCEA Level 2 endorsed with merit or equivalent.
