About the scholarship

A Prize recognising academic achievement in undergraduate and postgraduate study in European History. The Prize was established in 1976 in memory of the late Dr A N B Cotton, lecturer in History at the University of Auckland from 1972 to 1974. The Prize is funded by subscriptions from relatives, friends, colleagues and students. The aim of the Prize is to stimulate study and research into European History, particularly seventeenth century British History or related fields.
