About the scholarship
Awards of up to $30,000 in total to support New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents enrolled in a PhD in Dance Studies to engage in extended residencies abroad while undertaking their PhD. The Award was established in 2024 and is funded by Lady Rosemary Buchanan, a former principal dancer with the Royal New Zealand Ballet, and a significant supporter of creative research in Dance Studies at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland. The intention of the Award is to encourage and support Dance Studies students to engage in extended residencies abroad, for research purposes, during the period of their PhD study at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
