About the scholarship
A Prize for the student who submitted the best dissertation in URBPLAN 715 relating to environmental, conservation, resilience or sustainability issues. This Prize was established in 2019 in memory of Jim Dart (1928-2018), lecturer in Town Planning 1962-1993. While lecturing at the University of Auckland, he founded the Town Planning Quarterly and after retiring became a commissioner on the Planning Tribunal (later the Environment Court). The main purpose of the Prize is to support emerging planners by recognising and rewarding the student enrolled in the Masters of Urban Planning (Professional) who completed the best dissertation dealing with environmental, conservation, resilience or sustainability issues.
