About the scholarship
The David G Carter Prize in Humanities was established in 2015 in memory of David G Carter, by his widow Louise B Carter and son Giles Carter. David Carter was an art collector and the director of several museums in North America, including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. His passions were for seventeenth century Dutch paintings and medieval armour. The main purpose of the Prize is to recognise and reward the most academically meritorious student who has undertaken a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) majoring in a subject in the School of Humanities in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Auckland.
