About the scholarship
Scholarships totalling $24,000 to support New Zealand Citizens and Permanent Residents undertaking research related to Motor Neuron Disease as part of a postgraduate honours and masters degree. The Scholarship was established in 2022 by friends and family of Marcus Gerbich, a significant supporter of the research undertaken by the Motor Neuron Disease Lab in the Centre for Brain Research and is funded by the Transportation Auckland Corporation Limited. The intention of the Scholarship is to encourage and support students enrolled at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland to undertake research related to Motor Neuron Disease.
