About the scholarship
An Award to recognise the student entering Part III of the Bachelor of Optometry who achieved the highest aggregate marks across all the prescribed Part II courses in the previous year. The New Zealand Association of Optometrists (NZAO) has a long and valued relationship with the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of Auckland. In recognition of this, the NZAO established a set of undergraduate awards for Bachelor of Optometry students at the University. The NZAO Leon Garner Award acknowledges the achievements of Professor Leon Garner, a long-serving Professor and Head of the School of Optometry and Vision Science.
