F A De La Mare Memorial Prize - The University of Auckland

The Prize, which was first offered in 1978, is provided from funds donated by the beneficiaries of the will of Sophia Ruth de la Mare, in memory of her late husband, Frederick Archibald de la Mare. He was a graduate (BA, LLB) of the University of New Zealand, practised as a solicitor in Hamilton from 1910 to 1948, and represented Convocation as a member of the New Zealand University Senate from 1919 to 1947.
