About the scholarship

The Vice-Chancellor's Excellence Award (VCEA) recognises the value of breadth of learning for the University of Canterbury's most capable students, and supports their endeavours to study beyond their chosen degree.Value/Benefits: Courses taken under the VCEA programme will incur no tuition fee.Level of Study: Undergraduate or doctoral - Courses taken may be at 100 or 200 level, and of a value of normally no more than 15 points per semester. Courses to a maximum total of 60 points may be taken under the VCEA programmeClosing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 31 March Number Available Annually: VariesApplicable Enrolment During Tenure: At the time of the application for enrolment in a course under the VCEA programme, candidates must be in one of the following categories: a.Current full-time domestic students in PhD programmes at the University of Canterbury. b.Current or intending domestic undergraduate students. Successful applicants in this category, at the time of commencement of study in a course under the VCEA programme, must i.have passed at least 90 points of study; and ii.have achieved an overall GPA of at least 7.0; and iii.be enrolled full-time at the University.
