The purpose of this scholarship is to support postgraduate students at the University of Canterbury. Value/Benefits: Financial assistance at a value of $5,000 Level of Study: Honours; Postgraduate; Master's; Doctoral Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 15 August (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date) Tenure: One year Number Available Annually: Two Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: The scholarship is tenable during full-time enrolment at the University of Canterbury in one of the following:the final year of a programme for an Honours degree; orany year of a programme for a postgraduate degree or a postgraduate diplomaCitizenship/Residency Requirements: Not applicable For more information, please read the regulations for this award: click here.Selection will be based on:academic achievement;involvement in sporting, cultural and/or community activities; andaffinity with the objectives of the University of Canterbury Alumni South Island Chapter, as demonstrated in a brief statement required as part of the application.The University of Canterbury Alumni South Island Chapter established the scholarship in 2014. It replaces the University of Canterbury Alumni Association Scholarships, which had been first awarded in 1996, and which were then reviewed and relaunched in 2008. In 2013 the University of Canterbury Alumni Association was wound up and the University of Canterbury Alumni South Island Chapter was founded.The scholarship supports postgraduate students at the University of Canterbury.
