About the scholarship

To apply for this scholarship, please use the UC School-Leaver Scholarships 2023 application form. Applications open 20 June 2022 and close 15 August 2022.The UC Takere Scholarship supports M?ori and Pacific students to successfully transition and flourish in university study and life at Te Whare W?nanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury. The award is based on reciprocity and commitment for the successful participants, as well as for the University.MaoriValue/Benefits:a. Financial assistance at a value of $1,000, paid as a fortnightly allowance of $400 during the Takere Academy (5 weeks);b. Takere Academy, inclusive of free catered accommodation in a student hall of residence, for five weeks, to assist the transition to university life; andc. Ongoing tailored support and assistance, including needs-based subsidised accommodation at a UC student hall, throughout a recipient?s first year of university study.Level of Study: School Leaver (First year undergraduate) Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 15 August (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date.)
