Applications open 20 June 2022 and close 15 August 2022.The Nelson Science Scholarship was founded in memory of his wife Chrissie Mayo Evans and his mother Louisa Bishop Evans by an old boy of Nelson College who for some years was closely connected with Canterbury College. Recipients, on 1 March of the year of tenure, must be at least 16 years old For more information, please read the regulations for this award: click here.Recipients must have been enrolled at Te Kura Tamat?ne o Whakat? | Nelson College for not less than two years, and, on 1 March of the year of tenure, must be at least 16 years old Selection will be based on: academic achievement, especially in any three of the subjects Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, Mathematics, and Statistics;leadership potential; andinvolvement in sport, cultural, and/or community activities.The scholarship was founded in 1928 by Dr W P Evans, a distinguished early graduate of Canterbury College, who was Head of the Department of Chemistry and Physics at the College from 1903 to 1906, and Head of the Department of Chemistry from 1907 to 1922. In 1967, Dr Evans?s daughters, Miss CB Evans and Miss FM Evans, made further donations to the scholarship?s fund.
