Lloyd L. Hosking Scholarship in Civil Engineering

The purpose of this scholarship is to reward the academic achievement of a student who is currently enrolled for the final year of the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BE(Hons)) degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Canterbury. This gift was made by Lloyd Hosking as a tribute to his mother, Jean Hosking whose self denial had enabled him to complete his degree in the difficult years of the early thirties notwithstanding that she had been widowed when he was only nine. It is also in recognition of the benefits he derived in his career with Shell International from his Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree awarded in 1935.
