About the scholarship
The purpose of the Freemasons University Scholarships is to assist students who demonstrate good citizenship and show leadership potential, complete their university education in their chosen field. Through the benevolent funds of individual lodges, as well as the Grand Lodge of New Zealand Fund of Benevolence, it provides for both local and national needs.This assistance ranges from contributions to food banks, grants to victims of flood and other natural disasters, grants and scholarships to tertiary students, provision of equipment for emergency services and assistance towards the equipping of community facilities.Typically eight Postgraduate Scholarships of $10,000 each are available for students attending universities at: Auckland, AUT, Canterbury, Lincoln, Massey, Otago, Victoria, and Waikato.
