The award supports postgraduate students of History or Political Science at Te Whare W?nanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury, by contributing to travel expenses associated with their studies.Value/Benefits: $500 to $1,500Level of Study: Honours; Master's; Doctoral Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 31 March (and 31 October if the available fund has not been fully allocated in the 31 March round)Number Available Annually: Grants are available from an annual total fund of at least $3,000.Applicable Enrolment: Full-time or part-time enrolment at the University in a programme for an honours, master?s, or doctoral degree in History or Political Science.Citizenship/Residency Requirements: None Special Requirements: None For more information, please read the regulations for this award: click here.Selection is based on:potential value of the proposed or completed travel to the applicant's studies;proposed or completed itinerary; andcost of the proposed or completed travel.Applicants may be required to make a presentation to the selection committee on their proposed or completed travel and how it will be, or has been, of value to their studies.Barbara Kathryn Ell (known as Kathryn) established the award in 2019. Kathryn graduated from UC in 1968 with a BA in English and went on to graduate from Christchurch Teachers? Training College in 1970. Kathryn then pursued a profession in teaching and as an educational administrator. Kathryn graduated from Massey University in 1993 with a Master of Educational Administration (with Distinction).
