About the scholarship

A $5,000 Scholarship to assist a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident enrolled full-time or part-time in a BE(Hons) Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering students who is facing financial hardship. The Scholarship was established in 2018 and is funded by Downer New Zealand in recognition of the illustrious career and close association with the Faculty of Engineering of Dr David Hutchison, a long-time employee of Downer New Zealand. The main purpose of the Scholarship is to assist a talented student who has the potential to contribute to the Civil Engineering industry, but who is facing financial hardship. The Scholarship is intended to relieve financial pressures and allow the student to focus on their studies and achieve their potential.

Entry requirements
