The main purpose of the Award is to ensure a greater number of talented and deserving students who are experiencing financial hardship have the opportunity to fulfil their academic goals. Outcomes are determined by a selection committee and are usually notified around six weeks after the closing date.

Entry requirements
The Award may be made to students of good academic standing who are enrolled full-time or part-time in undergraduate or postgraduate study in the Faculty of Business and Economics. The Award is tenable by domestic and international students. The basis of selection will be financial hardship and academic achievement. A grade point average (GPA) or grade point equivalent (GPE) equivalent to a C+ average will be required for consideration for the Award (see Notes II to IV).
