About the scholarship

The kaupapa of the Waka Moana Scholarship is to recognise tauira of potential who have strong engagement in either Te Ao Māori, their community, the arts or played an exceptional leadership role in sports or cultural contexts, as well as demonstrating academic ability. Entry requirements

To take up and be paid the Scholarship, recipients must gain admission to the University of Auckland with an NCEA rank score of at least 160, a CIE rank score of at least 160 or an IB score of at least 25, and enrol full-time in an undergraduate degree or the Certificate of Health Sciences, followed by an undergraduate degree, at the University of Auckland.
