About the provider

Middleton Grange School - a co-educational Christian school of 1369 students, with classes from Year 1 (age 5) to Year 13 (age 18). Working closely with families and care-givers, our aims are for students to achieve academic excellence using their God-given talents while developing character and lives of service to others. Middleton Grange is a happy, friendly and caring community. Middleton Grange School is located in the western suburbs of Christchurch, 15 minutes from the city centre, 5 minutes to the University of Canterbury and close to 4 shopping centres. Our campus is in beautiful park-like grounds with modern, well equipped learning facilities. The well-being and happiness of our international students is an important priority at Middleton Grange School.

Middleton Grange School has a reputation for academic excellence. Our staff are highly skilled professionals who help our students to achieve consistently impressive results. Staff are required to be committed Christians and therefore students are educated in an environment where we strive for Character, Excellence and Service, for the Glory of God.

The International College staff are responsible for every aspect of the student’s life and study while in Christchurch. We go above and beyond in the care and support of our students.

Students are required to either live with a parent or in a homestay and the International College has rigorous systems to recruit and monitor homestays. First and foremost is the wellbeing of our students.

Middleton Grange School has always been a school with a diverse range of cultures and ethnicities. Right from the beginning the school had children from Dutch, German, British heritage, and more. With international students first arriving at the school in the 1960’s it has meant that different cultures have always been provided for.

Currently we would have more than 60 ethnicities in the school. The International College caters for the international students, but we also have many domestic students who identify with the heritage of another country. We celebrate this diversity, as we are all created in the image of our Maker.

The International College organizes language days each term to celebrate the language and culture of our students. We have cultural assemblies, food festivals, language clubs and many more activities for all our students.

It is truly a joyous school where we celebrate our diverse cultures together.
