Whangaroa College provides both an excellent academic programme for students who aspire to higher learning and an exciting alternative pathway for the practical contributors of our society. Whangaroa College is a Year 7 – 13 co-educational school set in idyllic and peaceful surroundings. It sits in a valley bounded by the Kaeo River, Pohue Pa, Maungaemiemi and Taratara maunga. Ngati Kahu and Ngapuhi are tangata whenua.

The campus contains a huge number of beautifully positioned and well-tended native and exotic trees and shrubs. There are plenty of outdoor sport and recreation facilities in the college grounds.The beautiful and tranquil Whangaroa Harbour is less than 10 km away. The East Coast offers views of the Cavalli Islands and access to the surfing and swimming beaches of Matauri Bay, Te Ngaere Bay, Wainui Bay and Tauranga Bay.

The College is well equipped to cater for academic, sporting and cultural needs. Whangaroa College is an NZQA accredited provider of both conventional and non-conventional school subjects. Its excellent computer facilities allow a range of activities from text information management to internet research. The College has a proud sporting history, especially in Netball, Volleyball, Basketball and Touch Rugby.
