Established in 1880, and located in the South Canterbury region of New Zealand, Timaru Boys' High School educates around 650 boys from Years 9 to 13 with a strong emphasis on academic, artistic and sporting tradition.
Timaru Boys’ is a school that values learning in all its forms, from the traditional academic disciplines, to trades based technologies and skills. We have a flexible and responsive curriculum that is designed to help all students reach their potential. Our staff are committed and professional, willing to go the extra mile to help students develop as learners and young men. Teachers here know the importance of building relationships with students - it is integral to boys’ achievement and one of the main drivers of our strong academic achievement.
Timaru Boys’ has a huge range of sporting and cultural opportunities for all our students with extremely high participation rates. These activities develop the skills of leadership, collaboration and resilience. Students build character and develop life-long bonds through these shared experiences.
