About Us

Wainuiomata High School is a state co-educational secondary school with a roll of 650 students.

At Wainuiomata High School we are committed to producing high-quality individualised education. We are an achievement-oriented school. We set, expect and maintain high standards.

We have top-quality, friendly, effective teachers and staff who are committed to facilitating top-quality teaching and learning.

At Wainuiomata High School there is currently a wide range of subjects available. In 2019 we moved to a junior student-centred curriculum, which enabled our students to choose the courses that are relevant and interesting to them. In 2020 we implemented the curriculum change in our senior school. We are focussing on encouraging our students to learn how to learn and to develop the key competencies necessary to be successful in life after school.

For us, it is about providing a range of opportunities for all our students to gain experience, learn, develop, have fun and achieve. We are a multi-cultural and diverse school and everyone is respected and accepted for who they are.
