About the course

Master the Art of Baking and become qualified - Uniquely developed by bakers for bakers Our newest Trade Baker Programme is the first of its kind to hit New Zealand. Fees free available as well as a Maori/Pasifika Scholarships.

The Trade Baker Programme consists of six courses. The courses are 11 to 12 weeks each and 5 out of 6 of them are a blend of learning in the workplace via a work placement supported by our Navigator and on-site learning at our Skills4Work training centre based in Manukau, by a qualified trained baker.
With our work placements we will try to get you one within the area where you live, where possible.

We specialise in providing students, not only with the skills and knowledge, but also the hands-on practical work experience in the actual workplace.
There will be opportunities to bake, cook and share with your whanau and friends to demonstrate what you can do and as thanks for their support.

Entry requirements

Domestic Student New Zealand Citizen or be a New Zealand Resident Be at least 18 years old Have NCEA Level 2 or equivalent knowledge OR current industry experience Must be able to travel to our training centre in Manukau, Auckland.

*This course is not available to international students.

  • Non NZQA short courses to cover specific areas of business improvement, resulting in behavioural and practical skills changes.

We also offer customised workplace training (short courses) tailored to the company's requirements giving learners training content and examples that are familiar to their job.

We have offered our programmes/courses through face to face and distance modes of delivery with supported on-job or work-based components.
