About the course

The building industry needs more design professionals with technical mastery in their discipline and advanced knowledge and skills in whole-building performance, collaboration, integrated design and digital methods.

This programme will provide at-work building design professionals with ‘practice-focused’ education and is driven by the need to improve the sustainability and affordability of buildings, which is best achieved by taking a holistic approach to integrated building design.

Entry requirements

Postgraduate certificates and diplomas require a relevant bachelor's degree. If you gained your qualifications overseas, these will need to be assessed to ensure they are of an equivalent standard.

A student for the Postgraduate Certificate of Architectural Engineering (PGCertArchEng) must have completed a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours or equivalent.

Students are strongly advised to have at least one year of professional practical experience before applying. Students will be approved by the College of Engineering Dean (Academic) based on the standard of their previous studies and work experience.

The relevance and standard of undergraduate studies and any subsequent professional work experience are the main criteria of approval. Students will normally be expected to have at least a B average in their 300-level courses.
