Certificate in Marine Engineer Class 5 (MEC5)

Graduates will have achieved the Maritime NZ certificates Marine Engineer Class 5 and Marine Engineer Class 6 which are required to work as the qualified first engineer of a range of commercial vessels powered by engines of less than 750kW, or second engineer aboard some more powerful vessels. Graduates will also be able to continue with further study.
