About the course

Graduates in engineering geology develop practical skills in the field and/or in the laboratory and an awareness of research in selected fields. At completion of the diploma they will have an ability to critically assess and synthesise the literature and data, a knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues and modern concepts, and an ability to think independently and communicate effectively. Completion of this diploma may lead to professional employment as an engineering geologist or geological consultant, or further postgraduate study.

Entry requirements

Bachelor of Science in geology or earth science from a New Zealand university; or a Bachelor of Engineering in civil engineering.
