About the course

Successful graduates will demonstrate skills, knowledge and qualities in good interpersonal communication skills, understanding of different cultural perspectives, good customer service skills, understanding of quality assurance principles, sensitivity to the cultural and social impacts of tourism, an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the tourism industry, and a strong foundation in the key aspects of management, marketing and accounting. Employment possibilities include middle management level, or the pre-management level in companies working across the full range of the tourism industry including travel, accommodation, hospitality, and event management. The degree will also create the potential for strong promotion pathways into senior management positions.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be at least 17 years old, have completed tertiary study, with a minimum of 14 credits in each of 4 subjects at Level 2 NCEA,or equivalent overseas qualification. international students must have an English language standard equivalent to IELTS 6.0/TOEFL 550.
