About the course

The New Zealand Diploma in Hospitality Management (Level 5) is a basic entry-level qualification comprising seven courses for students wanting to enter the work force as soon as possible and is focused on the practical skills and knowledge that employers look for in new employees in the hospitality industry. The diploma is a stepping stone to the Bachelor of Hospitality Management degree for those aspiring to employment roles leading to management responsibility.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 14 NCEA numeracy credits at Level 1 or higher and 50 credits at Level 2 or above with at least 12 credits in each of 3 subjects, including a minimum of 8 literacy credits at Level 2 or higher; or Successful completion of a Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in hospitality Equivalent overseas qualification; and IELTS 5.5 with no band below 5.0 / TOEFL iBT 46 (with a writing score of 14) / PToE academic score of 42 / AIS Test of English Proficiency (TEP) 48/80 (with no band less than 11) (approved countries only); and 17 years and over
