About the course
This qualification is designed to accommodate the needs of a cross section of industry personnel. The qualification provides evidence of the attainment of a foundation level of workplace health and safety competency as well as a range of supporting communication skills. The qualification also recognises specialist competencies associated with workplace safety and health issues including first aid, fire and emergency response, and occupational health and safety practice.
The qualification is designed to be flexible in its application to meet the needs of candidates from different areas of industry.
Candidates undertaking this qualification would typically be new to the industry and could progress to the National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Workplace Safety) (Level 3) [Ref: 0801].
