Te Pou Hono ki Taiao

The qualification is for people seeking to develop a broad range of skills required to support and participate in te taiao practices within marae communities.

The qualification meets the need of whānau, hapū, iwi, communities and other entities wanting to grow capacity, capability and knowledge within their communities to manage, lead and sustain te taiao in their marae communities.

Graduates of this qualification will be able to apply a broad range of skills necessary to support their whānau, hapū, iwi and/or marae communities in improving the health and wellbeing of te taiao within their community. They will also take responsibility for their knowledge and skills used to participate in and sustain te taiao within their marae communities.

Rukuhia te mātauranga ki tōna hōhonutanga me tōna whānuitanga. Whakakiia ngā kete a ngā uri o Awanuiārangi me te iwi Māori whānui ki ngā taonga tuku iho, ki te hōhonutanga me te whānuitanga o te mātauranga kia tū tangata ai rātou i ngā rā e tū mai nei.

To empower the descendants of Awanuiārangi and all Māori to claim and develop their cultural heritage and to broaden and enhance their knowledge base so as to be able to face with confidence and dignity the challenges of the future.
