About the course
Grow your English skills and confidence in a supportive learning environment. Develop your reading, writing, listening and speaking through practical activities and everyday New Zealand contexts, while preparing for further ESOL or mainstream study.
The aim of this micro-credential is to prepare students for further ESOL or mainstream study destinations so that they can communicate more effectively in the community, in employment and/or in further study options. The programme develops learners’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills through course materials, authentic texts and practical learning activities relevant to everyday, workplace and study contexts. Learners engage in a range of reading and writing tasks, listen to authentic spoken texts, and develop their speaking skills through conversations, spoken exchanges and oral presentations. Continuous formative assessment and constructive feedback support learners to monitor their progress, strengthen their language skills and achieve the learning outcomes.
