About the course
The Bachelor of Applied Management (Occupational Health and Safety Management major) prepares you to manage workplace health, safety, and wellbeing within modern organisations. You'll develop both the management skills and technical knowledge needed to support safe work practices, meet compliance requirements, and foster a positive safety culture.In your first year, you'll build a foundation in business management, communication, project management, marketing, accounting, workplace ethics, and introductory health and safety principles.As you progress through the programme, you'll develop expertise in:Occupational health and safety systems and strategiesRisk management and hazard identificationHealth and safety training and programme evaluationSafety leadership and organisational cultureStrategic planning and performance measurementWorkplace wellbeing and resilienceSustainable health and safety practicesResearch, ethics, and evidence-based decision makingEmerging business technologies, including artificial intelligenceYou'll also explore how health and safety professionals support organisations through change, improve worker wellbeing, and contribute to long-term organisational success.The programme offers a blend of theoretical and practical learning, with an emphasis on applied knowledge and skill.
