About the course
Introduction
The Diploma in University Studies (DipUniSt) is a foundation degree to build your academic skills and learn about how university life works.
The programme provides an extended orientation to UC so you can familiarise yourself within a foundational first year of your bachelor’s degree before starting your second year.
This programme is offered to domestic students (New Zealand or Australian citizens).

Entry requirements
For entry to the Diploma, you will need to have:* at least 32 NCEA Level 3 credits across three University Entrance approved subjects
- met the numeracy component for University Entrance.
- met the literacy component for University Entrance
