About the course
The Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Management is designed for management professionals and recent graduates who want to enhance their qualifications and expand their management knowledge and skills. This comprehensive program aims to help participants secure employment or advance their careers.
Employers in both the public and private sectors will benefit from the extensive knowledge and skills (including problem-solving and teamwork) that graduates of this program acquire during their studies.
SIT is now offering this course in HyFlex ('Hybrid-Flexible') which combines face-to-face and online learning.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Management is aimed at management practitioners and recent graduates (domestic and international) wishing to undertake a comprehensive programme of study in order to upgrade their qualifications and extend their management knowledge and skills with the objective of obtaining employment or advancing their careers. Public and private sector organisations employing graduates of the Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Management will benefit from the broad knowledge and skill set (including problem-solving and team work) that the graduates have acquired during their programme of study.

To apply for the Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Management, you’ll need:
- A relevant bachelor’s degree, graduate diploma or postgraduate certificate
- A minimum B grade average at Level 7 or above
- Alternative entry
Special Admission
Mature-aged applicants may be considered if they can demonstrate their ability to succeed in the programme through relevant previous study or industry experience that meets the required standard for entry.
You may also be able to enrol in selected courses provisionally. After successfully completing these, you can apply for special admission.
English language requirements
If English is not your first language, you’ll need to provide evidence of your English language ability.
Accepted options include previous study completed in English or an approved English language test.
Common test requirements include:
- IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall, with no band below 6.0
- TOEFL iBT: 79, with a writing score of 21
- TOEFL pBT: 590, with TWE 5.5
- PTE Academic: 58, with no band below 50
- Cambridge English: C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency, score 176, with no skill below 169
- OET: Grade C+ or 300 in all sub-tests
- NZCEL: Academic or Professional Level 5
- LanguageCert: C1 Expert with High Pass or C2 Mastery with Pass, with at least a Pass in each skill
- Trinity ISE: ISE III, with at least a Pass in each band
Other recognised evidence of English proficiency may also be accepted.
